Why Whitewater?

Hello! My name is Mr. Stewart. This is my 19th year of teaching at Whitewater High School. My goal is to build a community of learners. I want to create a culturally responsive classroom and help each student develop a depth of understanding of people and the world surrounding them. While at the same time, provide the chance to apply their knowledge to real-life situations.

I am a life long resident of Whitewater. Many of my friends in high school often tell me how much they cherish their time at Whitewater High School. They often talk about the size of the school and the people in and outside the school who helped shape their lives. It is not a large school but has many offerings of a large school.

It is an honor to live in a community that cares so much about its students. The best thing about my community is seeing students come back to support the current crop of students. The people clearly make Whitewater. I have taught in several communities during my 29 years of teaching. The faculty, administration, and community are the special sauce that makes Whitewater unique from other places that I have taught.
