I came to Whitewater because of the rich tradition of excellence in and out of the classroom. I'm proud to be part of the great academic, athletic and arts culture of WHS. My goal is to continue to give every student the necessary skills to be career and college ready.
Who am I?
After graduating from Big Foot High School in 1986, I spent two years at UW-Parkside before transferring and graduating from UW-Whitewater in 1991 with a Bachelor's of Science in Education. My Business and Marketing Education certification landed me a job at neighboring Palmyra-Eagle High School from 1992-2003. During that time I served in many roles including Business/Marketing teacher, Athletic Director, Dean of Students, Head Wrestling Coach, Head Football Coach and assistant coach in multiple other sports. I also attained a Master's of Science in Business Management from Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee in 1995, Code 51 principal’s license in 2004 from Aurora University, and in August 2013 I attained my superintendents license through WiscAd.
In the fall of 2003, I became Activities Director and Head Football Coach here at WHS. I taught one business education course for the first two years before taking on an administrative role as Dean of Students, Athletic Director and the Head Football Coach.
In 2010, I was promoted to the Assistant Principal at WHS and I've been the Principal since 2011.
What Do I Believe?
I believe that hard work pays off. I want students to understand that it requires no knowledge nor ability to work hard. Many of the most successful people in the world have achieved their goals in life on effort alone. Whether it be a skill or trade, knowledge from a book, or technological information; everyone has the ability of learning by working hard. In the end, talent and ability will only take a person so far. Lack of work ethic will eventually be this person’s downfall, and the person who works hard will eventually get ahead in life!
