Swimmers Top Delavan; Four Crack Top Ten Times
Swim Delavan

The Whippets in their first meet of the year beat Delavan-Darien 113 to 57. This was a great first meet for the Whippets; four swims registered into the Top 10 Times for all time. Freshman Sophia Fanshaw posted a 2:08.07 while placing 1st in the 200 Freestyle putting her 10th all-time and also posted a 1:18.52 while placing 1st in the 100 Breaststroke putting her 10th all-time in that event. Another freshman, Ella Houwers, was able to cruise into the 5th spot all time in the 200 Individual Medley with her 1st place finish in a time of 2:20.90. Veteran and Captain, Grace Fanshaw posted a 59.50 in the 100 Freestyle which was good for 1st place and the 9th place spot on the Top 10 all-time list. We had several swimmers race for the Whippets for the first time in this meet. Brianna Staebler took on the 200 Individual Medley and the 100 Butterfly, two of the more demanding races and did well. Evelyn Ramirez swam her relay leg like a champ with her goggles pinching her nose and Raquel Ortiz took on the 500 Freestyle and did all her flip turns with a really gritty determination. Coach Foucault stated, “I am very impressed by these girls and so many more.”
