Meet the Principal

Why Whitewater?

I came to Whitewater because of the high level of excellence in and out of the classroom. I am very excited to part of the great academic, athletic and arts culture of WHS. My goal is to continue to give every student the necessary skills to be career and college ready as well as expose all students to numerous opportunities to participate in extracurricular groups that cover a diverse range of interests.

Who Am I?

I am a 1993 High School graduate of Schaumburg High School in Schaumburg, Illinois. I then spent 2 years at Harper College in Palatine, Illinois before transferring and graduating from Illinois State University in 1998 with a Bachelor’s of Science in History Education. Between 1998-2001, I continued my studies and became certified in Special Education. In 2001, I moved to Madison, Wisconsin with my wife and from 2001-2013,worked in the Madison Metropolitan School District as a special education teacher, Social Studies teacher, Advanced Placement teacher, Dean of Students, Assistant Principal and assistant coach in multiple sports. Also during this timeframe, I attained a Master's of Degree in Education from Edgewood College in Madison in addition to a Principal’s license in 2010 from Edgewood College. From 2013-2017, I served as Associate Principal at Spring Hill Middle School in the School District of Wisconsin Dells. When I am not at school, I am spending my time with my wife and 2 children and chances are we rooting for the Chicago Bears, Cubs, or Blackhawks.

What Do I Believe?

Besides the teaching and learning that takes place, the most important aspect of high school are the connections that are made between students and teachers. I believe in a whole-child approach. The focus on relationship building is very important to me, not only because it creates a strong community but also successful, empowered students. It is my goal to be part of a school and district that strives to have its teachers and staff become actively involved in many aspects of their students’ lives, such as the Arts, Athletics or one of the various clubs that we have here at Whitewater High School.
