Five Place in Walworth County Winning Words Competition
Winning Words

Every year the Walworth County Arts Council invites high school students who attend Walworth County Schools to submit their writing in either prose or poetry. Several students from Whitewater High School received awards in this year’s competition. In the poetry category, Skylar Staebler won second place with "How Do They Live?", and Jeanette Erchul won third with "In the Dark." In the prose competition, Josephine Treder won first with "The Bench . . . ", Mina Truesdale won second with "Seeing Starlight", and Jillian Gibbs won third with "The Importance of Wealth" on The Great Gatsby. Mina Truesdale also placed third for poetry, but she can only accept one prize. Congratulations, Writers!
